Born in October 1408 or 1409. Parents: Knut Tordsson Bonde and Margareta Karlsdotter Sparre.
He was Regent from October 1438 to 1440, when Kristoffer was elected King. Elected King in Stockholm 20 of June 1448. Crowned in Uppsala 29 of June 1448. Elected King of Norway in Hamar 25 of October and crowned in the Cathedral of Trondheim on 20 of November 1449. Gave up Norway to Kristian I of Denmark on 29 of July 1450, left Sweden in February 1457 and lived in Putzig near Danzig. King again 9 of August 1464-30 of January 1465. King a third time in November 1467. Died on 15 of May 1470 at Stockholm's Palace.
Married 1. abt 1428 to Birgitta (died 1436), daughter of Ture Sensson Bielke and Birgitta Abrahamsdotter Tjurhuvud. Child: Ture (died early), Kristina (1432-1488?).
Married 2. on 5 of October 1438 in Stockholm to Katarina (died 1450), daughter of Karl Ormsson Gumsehuvud and Märta Gregersdotter. Children: Magdalena, Rikissa, Birgitta and six children who died early.
Married 3. in 1470 to Kristina Abrahamsdotter. Children: Karl (born in the 1450's),legitimized after the parent's wedding, died 1488, the last of this line of Bonde), daughter.
After his death in 1470, the country was ruled by Sten Sture.
