Born in the 1180's. Father: King Knut Eriksson.
He became King in 1208 and was crowned in November 1210. He was the first Swedish king to be crowned. He died 10 of April 1216.
Married in 1210 to Rikissa of Denmark (died 1220), daughter of King Valdemar the Great of Denmark and Sofia of Novgorod. Children: Ingeborg (married to Birger Jarl), Sofia, Erik.
Erik was the only surviving son of Knut Eriksson after the battle of Älgarås in 1208. In 1208 Erik returned from Norway and defeated Sverker II.
When he died in 1216, he was succeeded by Sverker Karlsson's son Johan Sverkersson.
