Born 1382. His name was originally Bogislav. Parents: Vratislav VII, Duke of Pomerania-Stolp and Maria of Mecklenburg. Maria was daughter of Henrik III, Duke of Mecklenburg and Ingeborg of Denmark (older sister of Margareta). Henrik III's mother was Eufemia, daughter of Erik Magnusson and sister of Magnus Eriksson.
Recognized as Margaretas heir in Norway 1388, moved to Denmark this year and was adopted by her. Norwegian Hereditary King 1389, Elected King of Denmark 1396 and King of Sweden the same year. Crowned King of all three countries in Kalmar on 17 of June 1397. Shared the power with Margareta until her death in 1412. Deposed in Sweden in October 1439, in Denmark the same year and in Norway in 1441. He was succeeded by his nephew Kristoffer. He died 3 of May 1459 in Pomerania.
Married 26 of October 1406 in Lund to Filippa (died 6 of January 1430), daughter of King Henry IV of England and Mary de Bohun.
Erik might have been remarried to a Cecilia.
In reality Erik had lost his power in 1436 and he moved to Visborg's Castle at Gotland. He tried to regain his lost thrones, but in 1449 he returned the island of Gotland to Kristian I and moved to his Pomeranian dukedom.
