Baptized with his younger brother Anund. Succeded Anund as King abt 1050.
He was married, but the queen's name is unknown. The had one son, Emund or Anund, who predeceased his father (probably poisoned) and one daughter, who was probably married to Stenkil.
Emund was the last one of the ancient Royal House of Sweden. When he died, the Ynglinga House became extinct in the male line.
