Born 8 of November 1622 at Nyköpingshus. Parents: Johan Kasimir of Zweibrücken and Katarina of Sweden. Elected heir to the throne in 1649, Duke in 1650. King after Queen Christinas abdication on 6 of June 1654. Crowned in the Cathedral of Uppsala on the same day. Died 13 of February 1660.
Married 24 of October 1654 to Hedvig Eleonora (1636-1715), daughter of Fredrik III, Duke of Holstein-Gottorp, and Maria Elisabet of Saxony. Child: Carl XI.
